We went to Phantasialand - just north of Bonn / South of Koln - like a small version of Disney land. Rode lots of roller coasters, visited different countries and rode on..
J was convinced that he was just going to have a "Ho Hum" party with just family. So when he turned around to see a crowd of people singing Happy Birthday ... he was speechless!!! He received a Lego Jet Fighter, Roller Blades, and a Dragon and Knight. And we had the traditional Train on the Ice Cream Cake. A good time was had by all for the 7 yr old..
The kids and I took a set of twin girls to Jolos as their birthday present. They had a blast.. It's Chucky Cheese without the Chucky!!!! They have this Giant Crocodile that kids can climb into from behind and come out the mouth but, as the 2nd photo shows) the mouth closes up and "eats the kids".
J is sitting in front of the Crocodile to give you a sense of how big this thing is..
And S really enjoyed going down this bumpy slide..
If you watch "The Sound of Music" you might see snippits of this lake - The Konigsee (the King's Lake) - you can just barely see it for the mountians she is surrounded by.... the rest of the photos are views from Eagle's Nest, driving back from Salzburg, and the mountains behind the lodge we stayed at. We had beautiful clear skies the entire weekend....
We just got back from a BS Camp weekend on the Austrian Border. Mr. Helperman - is lugging my original dufflebag (from 1978). Went to Salzburg and visited a fabulous, very child-oriented, Natural Science Museum - thus J's hand in T-Rex!!!
This first picture is from the most recent Sock Hop - We had a fabulous facepainting artist volunteer her time... I could hardly recognize the kiddos...
J was so proud of dressing himself... I just had to capture the proud moment.
The kids went to a German Kindergarten when we first arrived in Germany. This is from the Fall Lichtenfest
One of my favorite pics of the kids.. Such World Travelers..
